Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association Dodge Caravan Kids Update
Payments to be Issued to Teams ASAP:
Due to the unforeseen delays in receiving the funding from the Dodge Caravan Program, SMHA will be issuing cheques for $500.00 per team to each of the teams that registered and met the requirements of the program. The head coach of the team will receive an email when their payment is ready for pick up at the SMHA office.
Following is the update received from the Saskatchewan Hockey Association on March 17, 2010:

Hello,
I hope the season is going well for you.
I am writing to update you with the latest information I have from Dodge. We are awaiting funds from the Dodge Regional dealer, and hope to receive that from them as soon as possible.
We have received the portion of the funding from the National office of Dodge. This was one third of the total funding, so we are still waiting on the other 2/3 of the funds from the Regional dealers. The latest correspondence with Dodge has been that we can expect the funds soon.
To be very safe, I would say not to expect any funds until sometime in April. I realize that this is extremely late and that your teams and arenas will likely be done for the year.
As such, to ensure that the teams receive the money as soon as possible, I would recommend that the associations to do as some have advised me they are doing. Some minor hockey associations are writing cheques to the teams from their own accounts, and when the funding arrives from Dodge, they are then keeping it in the minor hockey fund at that time.
There have been a number of changes on the Dodge end with personnel and the program has suffered from them. Due to the changes in staff and programs, they have experienced communication breakdowns, and as such, the funding has not yet been sent.
I can assure you that your teams are all eligible for the program, and you can all expect funding to come, I just can’t give you a precise date to expect them by.
Thank you all very much for your patience in this program, it really is one that we believe in and recommend to our membership, and hope you continue to see it in that way as well.
